Nick Harris started his career in 1989 working with artists, bands and record
promotions for independent record labels. In 1992 he decided to set up his own business
Natural Sound Source Ltd, a studio and music production facility based in London's soho.
Between 1992 and 1996 the company grew year on year and in 1996 the company expanded to
offer services in audio post and radio production. This proved a massive success and
clients over the next few years included major UK advertisers including for several
years Dixons Store Group the biggest UK radio advertiser. For clients like these
the company offered more than purely recording, offering a "hands on" full production service.
In 1999 a sister company was set up, Natural Voice, offering voice services to the film, TV and advertising industries. This also ran successfully over the next few years.
By year 2001 the company had grown to the size where the next stage of expansion was necessary. The company had outgrown its studio space and was looking at options for the expansion. At this stage the company was approached for a takeover.
By now, Nick had spent nearly 10 years at the helm and felt that a new challenge was necessary and the purchase went ahead.
Fast forward to January 2004, after a year working within a group Nick decided to leave and form a new company, Cactus Recordings Limited, with new business partner Tally Parr.
Cactus has grown year on year and has current signings include Mercury nominated rap act, Ty and Drew, along with Bafta nominated Sheridan Tongue. Clients include Guinness, Mercedes, Sky Sports, Emirates, and a large number of record labels - both majors and independents.
In January 2005 a new company, Fresh Air Radio Advertising was born, with Tally Parr and new partner, Dominic Corp (ex Saatchi & WCRS) which focuses purely on producing great radio commercials - offering 'full service' either directly to clients or working with Advertising agencies.
Nick brings to the company a unique knowledge to the team, which includes radio production & direction, sound recording, music production, and sonic branding and of course the knowledge of running his own business for a number of years.
